Business Forum: a webinar for companies aiming at Minas Gerais

On the 11th o May the Italy / Minas Gerais Business Forum will take place remotely. The Forum is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and jointly organized by the Consulate of Italy in Belo Horizonte, ICE Agenzia, Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce of the Minas Gerais, in collaboration with local authorities and Confindustria.

Minas Gerais is a region of Brazil with an industrial vocation, characterized by a strong presence of immigrants of Italian origin (10.6% of the state’s population) with strong repercussions on the local culture. In the economy of Minas Gerais, the automotive, steel and food industries, in addition to the mining sector, are of particular importance. The state is also one of the largest producers of agricultural commodities in the country, as well as dairy products and coffee.

The following three sectors will be the subject of the event, presented each in a specific sectoral panel that will take place in parallel following the Plenary Session:

· Agribusiness, import of Italian food products and technologies for food processing in the dairy, beverages, bakery and bakery productions, ice cream parlors, meat, coffee, processed foods in general

· Manufacturing, automation and industry 4.0, with particular regard to car components; to semi-finished iron and steel products; to the mining and mining industry, including ornamental rocks and ceramics; to technologies for the pharmaceutical industry.

· Sustainable energy, urban electricity solutions and technologies for “smart cities”.
