He has held positions at the University of Toronto, the University of L'Aquila and Microsoft Research.He has worked on various topics in the field of databases, including relational database theory, databases and the Web, model management and metamodels. He is the founder of the Roma Tre database group, which includes six teachers and various research fellows and students.He was Vice President of the VLDB Endowment and President of the EDBT Association as well as President of the GII, Computer Engineering Group.
