The growing geopolitical and economic centrality of the Indo-Pacific region is redefining global strategic priorities. In this context, the European Union is also called upon to rethink its approach towards an area that represents not only an engine of world growth, but also a theatre of geopolitical tensions, competition between powers and challenges to international governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The recent EU strategy for the Indo-Pacific marks an ambitious attempt to build a more coherent, autonomous and multilateral presence, promoting shared values such as the rule of law, free trade, maritime safety and environmental sustainability. However, dialogue with regional actors, such as India, ASEAN, Japan, Australia and China, requires balance, strategic vision and adaptive capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This round table aims to explore the possibilities of a new relationship between the European Union and the Indo-Pacific world, focusing on convergences, divergences, economic interests, the security dimension and strategic alliances. An opportunity to discuss whether and how the EU can become a relevant player in one of the most dynamic and contested areas of the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
