Geographical, political, cultural or symbolic boundaries – define the space and identity of peoples, but are also at the origin of tensions, exclusions and conflicts. In a world marked by forced migration, regional wars, new forms of nationalism and territorial redefinitions, the very concept of the border has returned to the center of the global debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative proposes a path of multidisciplinary reflection on the relationship between borders and conflicts, analyzing their origins, transformations and consequences in international and local dynamics. From the Middle East to Eastern Europe, from the Mediterranean to subSaharan Africa, emblematic cases will be explored where the border line becomes a disputed space, symbolic frontier or place of resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the intervention of historians, geographers, political scientists, jurists and humanitarian workers, the event will focus on the political, social and ethical implications of border construction and defense, also questioning tools of mediation, reconciliation and coexistence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aim is to offer a critical and in-depth reading of the roots of contemporary conflicts and open a space for dialogue on how to overcome the barriers that divide, to build more open, inclusive and just societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
