Kharis has been working in Rome for over three years as a correspondent for the leading Lebanese daily \u201cAs-Safir\u201d, focusing his work on documenting the conflicts in the Levant and their ongoing consequences, as well as regional instability and resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was born in Beirut in 1952 and arrived in Italy in 1979 to study political science, subsequently beginning his career in journalism as a correspondent based in Italy. He is the founder of the Assadakah International Association for Italian-Arab Friendship, which is dedicated to promoting dialogue and cooperation between Italy and the Arab world.
