She is an Italian writer, journalist and TV presenter.
Graduated in philosophy at the University of Salerno with a thesis on state contributions for the south and the labor movement, she became a professional journalist in 1976. Initially she was a US foreign correspondent for the manifesto, from 1981 to 1993 she was a foreign correspondent for La Repubblica, then for the Corriere della Sera. She started her television career in 1995, with the Linea Tre program and then became director of Tg3 (1996-1998) and President of RAI in 2003. Since 2005 she has been presenter of In ½ ora, in 2011 she leads the program Power, divided into six episodes, in 2013 Leader, another television program of political analysis. Since 2012 she has been the director of Huffington Post Italia. In 2014 she received the America Prize of the Italy USA Foundation, conferred on her at the Chamber of Deputies.
