Italian Commissioner EXPO DUBAI

Paolo Glisenti is the Commissioner General appointed by the Italian Government on November 27, 2017 with the responsibility for planning and organizing the participation of Italy in EXPO 2020 Dubai.

On November 30, 2019, he has been appointed Member of the Steering Committee of Expo 2020 Dubai.

Previously, as founder and CEO of PGConsultants – a firm based in Rome that offered advisory services on communication strategies, mega events, brand building, strategic marketing – he developed a portfolio of senior managerial and consulting roles with leading organizations and institutions including the Italian Government (bid and planning for Expo 2015), the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Scientific Research (international roadmap), the City of Sao Paulo (bid for Expo 2020), City of Rome (bid for 2020 Olympics and Paralympics Games), Dubai (project Autodrome), SEA Milan Airports (on line services) and others.

Between 1998 and 2008 he held positions in communication and public affairs including Executive Vice President for News Corp Europe, CEO of Montedison USA, Director of Policy & Public Affairs for the City of Milan, Deputy Chairman & Executive Director for the planning and organizing committees of Milan EXPO 2015.

Paolo Glisenti has been a member of the board of directors of publicly traded multinational companies in France, Great Britain, USA and Italy active in the media, telecommunication, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.

He has written extensively on communication and economics issues, publishing three books to date, authoring numerous editorials, radio and TV programmes.

He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by the President and the Prime Minister of Italy for the services rendered in successfully heading Italy’s bid campaign to host EXPO Milan 2015.

He trained as journalist working for 15 years for major Italian media organizations and has lived for long periods of time in London and New York.
