Prefect, since 1 August 2014 he has been Central Director for the Traffic, Railway, Communications Police and for the Special Departments of the State Police. Enrolled in the regional order of journalists of Bologna and in the Italian Society of Criminology, he was consultant to the Anti-Mafia Commission from 1997 to 2000, Director of the External and Ceremonial Relations Office of the Department of Public Security from 2000 to 2008, Director of the Traffic Police Service from 2008 to 2011, as well as President of the National Coordination Center for dealing with crisis situations in the field of traffic, set up at the Ministry of the Interior – Traffic Police Service.

He was also President of the National Observatory on Sporting Events, established at the Ministry of the Interior – Department of Public Security from 2011 to 2012, and Director of the Higher Police School from 2012 to 2014.

He holds conferences and lectures on the issues of safety and the promotion of legality, as well as on communication and safety, at numerous Italian universities and in the context of sector conferences and congresses.
