Fernando Gentilini, diplomat, lives and works in Bruxelles for the European Diplomatic Service and from twenty years manages international crises, European and multilateral affairs. He was also the director of the European Diplomatic Service for the West Balkans and Turkey, Special EU Representative in Kosovo and for the Israeli-Palestinian peace’s process, and NATO delegate in Afghanistan. From 2018, director general for the Middle East and North Africa of the EU diplomatic service of Bruxelles, from July 2022 he works on the creation of the European Diplomatic Academy. He published In Etiopia (1999), Infiniti Balcani (2007, Cesare Pavese e Capalbio prize), Libero a Kabul (2011), Tre volte a Gerusalemme (2020, Gambrinus prize), I demoni. Storie di letteratura e geopolitica (Baldini + Castoldi, 2023). He collaborates with the cultural pages of “La Repubblica”.
