As a writer, in 2016 he published his first novel Doromizu. Murky Water, which was followed by three more novels, The Way of the Rising Sun (2017), Al Tayar. The Current (2019), and Rika (2021). In 2020, with his essay Unveiling Japan, he won the Antonio Semeria Casinò di Sanremo Literary Prize. The essay also wins the Premium International Florence Seven Stars 2020 for non-fiction.
