Carmelo Troccoli

Director world farmer markets coalition

Born in July 1973, from Cilento, husband, father of Antonio and Liana and a great Inter fan with an “obvious” passion for food: the right, good, safe and quality food. He began his work experience in Coldiretti in 2002 at the Coldiretti Representation to the Community Institutions in Brussels, as a policy advisor on issues such as intellectual property, international agreements and innovation programs in agriculture. From October 2009 to January 2018 he was National Secretary of Coldiretti Giovani Impresa, for which he organized “Oscar Green”, the main competition on innovation in the primary sector. Since November 2016 he has been Director of the Campagna Amica Foundation which promotes the largest network in the world world of farmers for direct sale under the same brand. In recent years he has focused on many projects including the creation of the first Farmers Markets coalition in the world, of which he is co-founder and general director, food education in schools, the strengthening of the Network of Social Agriculture companies and work to defend and safeguard biodiversity. Precisely from here the idea of giving birth to the “Sigilli di Campagna Amica”, products that risked being lost but which were instead recovered by the farmers of Campagna Amica and brought to the markets. The Campagna Amica Seals were created precisely to raise awareness of the importance of conserving a unique heritage in the world: our biodiversity. And so, thanks to the research started two years ago, more than 600 agricultural products have already been included in the list of Seals of Friendly Campagna. Many people talk about biodiversity, less about agricultural biodiversity, very few people try to protect it.
