Gianluca Casagrande

Scientific Director of Geographic Research and Application Laboratory – European University of Rome

Gianluca Casagrande is full professor of Geography at the European University of Rome (UER). His primary research interests include geographic information sciences and technologies, as well as historical geography and the history of explorations. In 2018 and 2021, he participated in organizing and conducting research and communication expeditions in the Arctic as part of the international “Association Polarquest”. Since 2019, he has been working on developing proposals for the epistemological and methodological elaboration of Exogeography as a discipline deriving from, and in continuity with, traditional geography. He teaches courses on this subject at UER and at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
