Enrico Giovannini

Economist, statistician and academic.

Since 13 February 2021 he is Minister of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility in the Draghi government.
He was Chief Statistician of the OECD from 2001 to August 2009, president of Istat from August 2009 to April 2013. From 2013 to 2014 he was Minister of Labor and Social Policy of the Letta government.
He is Full Professor (on leave) of Economic Statistics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where he taught Statistics and Analysis and Policies for Sustainable Development. He was Professor of Sustainable Development at the LUISS University.
He worked with the Joint Research Cntre of the European Commission.
Until January 2021 he was president of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (ESGAB).
In October 2014 he was appointed “Knight of the Grand Cross of Merit of the Republic”.
