Pierpaolo D’Urso

Pierpaolo D’Urso is a full Professor of Statistics at Sapienza University of Rome, where he holds the chairs of “Statistics” and “Data Science and Multivariate Statistics.” Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, Sociology, and Communication, Sapienza University of Rome. At the same university, he is Director of the Master’s Degree in Data Science for the Public Administration and has been Director of the Department of Social and Economic Sciences, Vice-Rector with responsibility for staff training, and Academic Senator. At the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, he was a member of the Commission of Experts for the Determination of Electoral Colleges and a member of the Commission for the Guarantee of Statistical Information. He is ranked in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists. He is Associate Editor and referee for many international journals of statistics and data science. He is the author of over 200 scientific publications. His current research interests include: fuzzy clustering; time series clustering; clustering methods for complex data structures; statistics and democracy; statistics and education; statistics and digital technology; electoral statistics; statistics and sports; statistics and public employment. Member of the Statistical Information Steering and Coordination Committee (Comstat), Istat.
