Colonel Marco Ferrara is the commander of the 28th ‘Pavia’ Regiment in Pesaro.
The colonel was awarded the NATO Meritorious Service Medal, NATO’s highest honour, which was presented to him in person by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
The award was conferred in recognition of his meritorious service at KFOR Headquarters in Kosovo in 2024 and 2025. Before arriving in Pesaro, Colonel Ferrara served as the Italian Senior National Representative and Head of the JEC Division at NATO’s Kosovo Force Headquarters in Pristina.
