Magdalena Wrana graduated in Italian Philology from the Faculty of Philology at Jagiellonian University, where in 2011 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis, with distinction, on Angelo Maria Durini, Apostolic Nuncio to Poland during the Enlightenment. In 2014, her thesis was awarded the Sbranti Foundation Prize by the University of Pisa for the best doctoral thesis in the field of Polish-Italian cultural relations. Since 2008, she has been professionally affiliated with the Jagiellonian University, where she has worked as an associate professor, serving, during her most recent term, as a member of the Academic Senate. She has worked as a visiting researcher and visiting professor at numerous Italian universities. She is a member of national and international associations for Italian studies. At the same time, from 2016 to 2026, she worked at the Honorary Consulate of Italy, initially as the Consul’s assistant and then, from 2019, as head of office, collaborating closely with the Italian Embassy in Poland, including in the field of scientific and cultural diplomacy. She is a renowned Italian conference interpreter: in 2023, she served as personal interpreter to the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during his state visit to Poland.
