He is an Italian politician and a former Member of the European Parliament.
He is Secretary of the Senate’s 4th Committee on EU Policies and a member of the delegation to the Council of Europe. Since April 2023, he has been Chair of the Italy–Azerbaijan Parliamentary Union Friendship Group and, since 31 May 2023, Chair of TFI – Transatlantic Friends of Israel.
