The superpowers of the United States and China compete in the most advanced sectors of technology and economy. These strategic sectors are increasingly influential in international politics. In this competition, diplomacy goals aim to increase connections and to establish agreements between countries. Moreover the mix of activities promoted by state and non-state actors raises soft power initiatives in order to achieve spheres of influence in the geographical areas of interest. Also we should consider how Russia and other regional powers look for opportunism in the international order and are searching for multi-alignment in their political, economic and diplomatic choices. For these reasons the competition between the United States and China is not only meant by a direct confrontation, but rather by the development of relations with the other states involved. The prospects of this competition would appear to be long-term and likely able to influence geopolitical assets in the years to come.
