The Bianca Maria Pomeranzi Award is born, a tribute and recognition conceived, conceived and intended to promote the rights and freedoms of women, girls and girls in the Italian, international and transnational context.
The initiative, sponsored by the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS), aims to build a legacy in the field of its work by intervening in the transition period between academic studies and the world of work. It is aimed at people who have graduated in Sciences for Development Cooperation (LM81) who have written a thesis focused on feminist and gender policies and practices in the political, social, cultural, environmental and economic fields. The winning person will have the concrete possibility of carrying out a three-month internship at a major organization in the sector. For the first edition, it will be Oxfam Italia / Gender Justice Area. Thanks to the generous contribution of the RUT Foundation and the European Women’s Management Development Network / Rome chapter (EWMD Rome), the internship will be paid.
The Promoting Committee of the Bianca Pomeranzi Award is made up of Dr Elena Zambelli (Lancaster University) e Maria Rosa Cutrufelli, who created it, and from AIDOS, International House of Women, Differenza Donna, Department of Political Sciences of the Roma Tre University / PhD in Political Sciences – Gender Studies Curriculum, EWMD Rome, RUT Foundation and Oxfam Italia.
Bianca Maria Pomeranzi has worked in the field of international cooperation, becoming a point of reference, representing and enhancing the role of women and the feminist movement in her long career between Maeci and the United Nations in the role of member of the Committee for the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women (CEDAW).
