Independent investigative journalist, he has collaborated, among others, with Al Jazeera English, Rai and Sky. He began his education at the American School of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, then continued at the American Overseas School of Rome, before graduating in journalism at New York University.
He began his career in 2001, working for seven years as a journalist for The Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo, the world’s largest circulation Japanese newspaper. He later continued his journalistic activity, alongside the role of producer for Oyibo Productions (from 2008 for three years) and for Invisible Dog (from 2011 to 2024).
He currently founded Outcast, a new production company, and runs the site referio.org / referio.it, an aggregator of procedural documents regarding mafia, corruption and terrorism.
He is co-author of the book Kelong Kings, dedicated to the phenomenon of international football betting, and has written, directed and produced numerous investigative documentaries for international broadcasters, including Toxic Truth, The Fix, Killing the Ball (finalist at the British Journalism Awards), Red Gold & Black Blood, The Mafia and the Migrants and the three-part series The Launderer?, focusing on the ‘Ndrangheta and international money laundering, broadcast on Al Jazeera English and selected among the finalists of the New York Festivals Film & TV Awards.
