Alfonso Giordano

Professor of Economic-Political Geography

Alfonso Giordano, a political and economic geographer and demographer, has over 25 years of experience as a university professor, research coordinator and scientific consultant, working with academia, think tanks, media, civil society and international stakeholders. His research interests range from population geography to political demography, environmental crises to human security, and diffusion of innovation to exogeography. On the latter topic, he teaches a course at LUISS University on ‘Exogeography, Astropolitics and Space Economy

He is currently an associate professor at Niccolò Cusano University, an adjunct professor at LUISS-Guido Carli University, and a member of various scientific committees and research units, the Center for International and Strategic Studies at Luiss and the GREAL-Geographic Research and Application Laboratory at the European University of Rome. In the past, he has held positions as Head of International Relations at the Italian Geographical Society, Counsellor for Scientific Research, Universities and International Relations at the Chamber of Deputies, Research Associate at the Institute of European Studies in Brussels and Counsellor for Internationalisation of Research at Tor Vergata University.
