Born in Genoa in 1966. President of Ce.S.I. – Centro Studi Internazionali (Center for International Studies), advisory institute to the Senate of the Republic and the Chamber of Deputies. Andrea Margelletti is advisor to the Minister of Defense, Hon. Guido Crosetto. Since 2012, he has been advisor to the Minister of Defense in the Monti, Letta, Renzi, Gentiloni, Conte II, and Draghi governments. Since 2022, he has been Advisor to the FdI Group Leader in the Senate, Sen. Lucio Malan.
In the past, he has served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament, Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Somalia, Advisor for Institutional Relations of the Representation in Italy of the Regional Government of Kurdistan, Advisor to COPASIR – Parliamentary Committee for the Security of the Republic, Advisor to the PdL Group in the Chamber of Deputies for Foreign Policy and Security.
Andrea Margelletti was co-organizer of the Master’s Degree in International Relations at La Sapienza University in Rome, professor of International Relations at the Master’s Degree in Peace Operations at Roma Tre University and the Faculty of Investigation and Security Sciences at the University of Perugia and Narni. Andrea Margelletti currently teaches at the Training School of the Department of Security Information (DIS), the Carabinieri Officers’ School, the Economic and Financial Police School, the Specialization Training School of the Guardia di Finanza, the Police Forces Advanced Training School (SFP), and the Joint Intelligence Center of the Defense Staff. President Margelletti teaches “Hybrid Warfare” at the NATO School in Oberammergau.
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of Eurispes – Institute for Political, Economic, and Social Studies and of the “De Gasperi” Foundation.
Since 2002, he has been the commentator on international politics and crises for Italy’s most important political talk show, “Porta a Porta,” hosted by Bruno Vespa.
He is frequently interviewed by CNN, Al Jazeera, SKY, and MSNBC.
He is the author of the book “Un mondo in bilico” (A World in the Balance).
Andrea Margelletti is an Honorary Academician of the Angelica Constantinian Academy, Commander pro Merito Melitensi of the SMOM – Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and Commander of the OMRI – Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, as well as the first and only honorary member of the Italian Special Forces. In 2024, President Margelletti received the “Italia Informa” Award, an annual event involving the most prestigious names in the world of finance, economics, art, culture, civil society, and institutions.
Andrea Margelletti is married to Libera Cesino, President of the “Libera dalla Violenza” Association, and together they have an English bulldog named Winston.
