Anna Cervi

Anna Cervi is a trained mediator registered with the Italian Ministry of Justice, qualified by the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and an expert on humanitarian diplomacy, mediation and international sanctions.

Anna has almost 15 years overseas experience with International Organisations, leading humanitarian interventions in Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Darfur in support to peace and reconciliation, with particular focus on humanitarian access, gender, inclusion and transitional justice. Since 2022, Anna has been conducting research and advising on humanitarian diplomacy in the Middle East with the NRC, Oxfam, PRIO, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Currently, she is the lead investigator of a research project funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on policy making in relation to humanitarian exemptions to sanctions.

Anna holds two degrees in Development and Cooperation Studies from the University of Bologna and she is an Alumni of the University of Oxford and London School of Economics. She is a member of the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network and one of the founders of the Italian Initiative on International Mediation (3IM).
