Anna Khvorostiankina is the UNESCO Chairholder in Justice and Good Governance for Sustainable Peace and Development, the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Legal Studies and Legal Europeanization and the academic coordinator of the Jean Monnet Modules “EU, Security and Fundamental Rights” and the Green PoLe at Eurasia International University (Armenia). She is the academic coordinator of the Master’s Programs in International and European Law; Access to Justice; and Political Science – Integration and Governance. From 2022 to 2026, she served as Head of Department of Law, Political Science and International Relations at EIU.
She has extensive experience in teaching and professional training on the issues of law-making and legal approximation.
In 2019-2022, she coordinated the Jean Monnet Module “Legal Approximation Laboratory” at Brusov State University. Previously, she worked for the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (Ukraine) as Associate Professor at the Department of General Jurisprudence and Public Law (2008-2019). In 2017, she was a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford University, USA, teaching the course “Constitutional Cultures in Transition: Constitutional Values and Identities in Post-Soviet Space”.
Her areas of teaching include: Constitutional Law, EU Law, Public International Law, and Legal Theory .
Research interests: Legal approximation and Europeanization of the legal systems of EaP countries, recent developments in theory and practice of judicial argumentation, and particularities of the Rule of Law in societies in transition.
