Ambassador of Mexico in Italy
Carlos Eugenio Garcìa de Alba Zepeda took up a diplomatic career in 1987, when he became a member of the Mexican Foreign Service.
From 1989 to 1993, he was Commercial Attaché at the Mexican Embassy in Italy, a country where he undertook a fraction of his early studies. In 1993, he assumed the appointment of Director of Multilateral Affairs of the General Direction for the Pacific Basin, which he maintained until 1995. After that, he was Regional Director of the Western Central Zone based in Guadalajara (1995-1998) and General Director of the State Offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998-2000). Furthermore, between 2000 and 2003, he was Appointed in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico and, between 2004 and 2006, he was Consul General of Mexico in Dallas, Texas.
In the years 2006-2007, he was appointed Charge d’Affaires of Mexico at the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development, and from 2007 to 2009 he was General Director of International Relationship of the Ministry of Public Education. Then, in 2011 he became Ambassador of Mexico in Ireland, an office that he occupied until 2016, when he became Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles, California. In June 2019 he was nominated Ambassador of Messico in Italy, an appointment that he still holds.
