She Started her career as a lawyer in London at Allen & Overy where he worked with Graham Vinter, the father of Project Finance.
In 1995 she returned to Italy convinced about the potential and shortcomings of Project Finance in Italy.
She participated in the first Project Finance operation, a cogeneration plant in Rosignano (LI).
She took part in all project finance such as the construction of the first wind farm (IVPC – 1998).
She took part in the drafting of decisive regulations for the sector such as the so-called Merloni Law of 1998 and the various reforms, the legislation on Project Bonds (2012-2014).
She was President of the Italian company in the water sector (Acea), also held the position of President of the Cesena Savings Bank.
Catia Tomasetti and her team have received the “Italy Law Firm of the Year – Project Finance” award for years in the Legal Community Finance Awards (from 2017 to 2022) and are ranked first in the Chambers Europe Guide (the latest 2023) and in the Chambers Global Guide (latest 2023).
