Daniel Bar-Tal is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Education Sciences at Tel Aviv University. His research interests focus on political and social psychology, particularly the study of the socio-psychological foundations of intractable conflicts and peace-building, as well as the development of political understanding among children and peace education. In recent years, he has been writing about authoritarianism. He has published over twenty-five books and more than two hundred and fifty articles and chapters in leading social and political psychology journals, books and encyclopaedias. He has served as president of the International Society of Political Psychology and has received several awards for his academic achievements.
