Daniele Verga graduated from the Amedeo Avogadro Scientific High School in Rome. After graduating in Political Science at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, he entered a diplomatic career in 1974. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome he held the position of Head of the Press and Information Service, Head of the Middle Office East, Mediterranean and Gulf, Deputy Director General for Sub-Saharan African Countries, Coordinator for Minorities and Exiles. From 2008 to 2010 he held the post of Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Arctic. Abroad he served as First Secretary at the Italian Embassy in Belgrade, Consul of Italy in Bastia (Corsica, France), First Counselor at the Permanent Representation to the United Nations Organization (UN) in Geneva (Switzerland) , Deputy Ambassador to the Italian Embassy in Ankara (Turkey). Ambassador of Italy to Ljubljana (Slovenia). In May 2011 he founded the “National Diplomatic Association in r. – Costantino Nigra” of which he is Vice President and Executive Secretary.
