Enrico Della Gatta is a manager and former Army officer, with two decades of active service in multinational operations and within the highest-ranking military institutions, both national and European. Following his military career, he completed an MBA at LUISS Business School and embarked on a career in the defence industry, focusing on strategy, markets and growth.
He is currently Vice President of Fincantieri, one of the world’s leading shipbuilding and defence groups, where he heads the Defence Market Business Intelligence function as a managerial tool to support the Group’s strategic decisions, commercial growth and competitive positioning. His professional career spans the entire spectrum of security: from command on the ground to engagement with governments and institutions, right through to the formulation of industrial and corporate strategies on a global scale. This dual perspective forms the basis of the book’s central thesis: in contemporary defence, private capital is no longer a peripheral element, but a decisive strategic lever for innovation, deterrence and long-term security.
