Federico Castiglioni

Federico Castiglioni is a researcher in the IAI’s “Europe” programme. Before joining the Institute, he worked at the European Parliament as a policy adviser to an MEP and subsequently as a political analyst at the consultancy firm Zanasi & Partners. In both these roles, he monitored developments in the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the European Defence Fund. In 2020, he was awarded a PhD in European Studies from Roma Tre University, having submitted a thesis on the diplomatic response of the European Union and its Member States to the 11 September terrorist attacks. He has lectured on ‘European Governance’ at the University of Naples L’Orientale and currently teaches at Link Campus University in Rome.
