Francesco Clementi

He is Full Professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in the Department of Social and Economic Sciences of the Faculty of Political Sciences. Among his most recent volumes, the following are worth mentioning: “Constitutional Law of the United States of America. An introduction” (author and curator with C. Bassu, M. Betzu and Giovanni Coinu – Giappichelli, 2022); “Elect the President. The United States from Roosevelt to today (author with G. Passarelli – Marsilio, 2022); “The Italian Constitution. Article-by-article commentary” (author and editor with L. Cuocolo, F. Rosa, G.E. Vigevani – Il Mulino, 2 vols., 2018), “Forms of State and forms of government” (with G. Amato – Il Mulino, 2012 ), as well as the author of the manual, edited by T. E. Frosini, “Comparative public law” (- Il Mulino, 2019); while, instead, for the publisher Cedam-WoltersKluwer, in the series “Centro italiano Sviluppo della Ricerca”, he wrote “Freedom of association in comparative perspective. The European constitutional experience” (2018). From a non-academic point of view he was a member of the “Commission of experts for constitutional reform” – the so-called. commission of wise men – appointed by the President of the Republic which operated in the two-year period 2013-2014. Since 2011 he has collaborated regularly with the newspaper “Il Sole24Ore” writing on political-constitutional topics.
