Giovanni Tria is an economist, academic and a public official. Born in Rome, in 1949, he earned his law degree from Sapienza University and has persuaded a long academic career in the field of political economy, serving as a professor and dean of the Economics Faculty in Tor Vergata University of Rome. He was President of the National School of Public Administration and a member of international organizations, including the ILO and the OECD. From June 2018 to September 2019, he served as Minister of Economy and Finance in the Conte administration.
He is currently an Honorary Professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
