Giuseppe Bettoni is Professor of Political Geography at the University of Rome ‘Unitelma – Sapienza’ and also lectures at the J. Jaurès University in Toulouse and Thuongmai University in Hanoi. His research focuses on internal and external geopolitics, with particular attention to the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa and European territorial redefinition.
He has carried out field research missions in Lebanon, Syria, West Africa and North Africa, and has been a consultant for ministries, military institutions and development agencies in Italy and France.
He is the author of numerous essays and monographs, including La geografia e l’organizzazione del territorio nell’Antropocene (UTET, 2023) and Geopolitica e comunicazione (Franco Angeli, 2012).
He is regularly invited as a geopolitical commentator by French and Italian broadcasters, including RAI, Sky TG24 and Radio Vaticana. He is fluent in Italian, French and English.
