Senior Partnership Officer, Global Engagement, Partnership and Resource Mobilization (GPR)
Maija Peltola is Senior Partnership Officer at IFAD. She is responsible for the global and multilateral engagement team, leading the Fund’s engagement strategy and policy messaging in high-level global fora.
Peltola has 20 years of work experience from 30 countries. Previously, she was IFAD Country Director for Mexico, Colombia, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Guyana. Prior to this, Peltola founded and headed her own consulting company Camaleonte, which provides solutions for sustainable and inclusive business. She also led a forestry policy project financed by the Inter-American Development Bank and worked as Director General of PROCASUR.
Peltola holds a Master’s Degree in Social Anthropology from the Autonomous University of Yucatán, Mexico. She has served as Vice President of the Association for Environmental Management in Finland, and as board member of Fairtrade and Amnesty International.
