Marco Meloni

Senator of the Republic

Born in Quartu Sant’Elena, in the province of Cagliari, he graduated in Law from the University of Cagliari and specialized in European law and policies, first with a master’s degree in European studies from the University of Florence and then with a PhD in European Union law from the University of Trieste. He carried out study and research activities at the European University Institute – Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies (2000 and 2002) and at Harvard University – John F. Kennedy School of Government (Executive program – September 2012). From 2001 to 2007 he was a researcher at Arel, a research and legislation agency, for which he coordinated the research office from 2003 to 2006. He is one of the founders of the think-net veDrò, and from 2007 to 2009 he was also general secretary of the TrecentoSessanta political culture association. From 2015 to 2021 he was director of the School of Politics founded by Enrico Letta.

Currently Senator, member of the 1st Permanent Commission (Constitutional Affairs) and of the Parliamentary Commission for combating the disadvantages deriving from insularity.
