Ambassador Maurizio Massari is a career diplomat with over fourty years of experience. He is former Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations ( July 2021- January 2026) in New York and to the European Union ( June 2016- April 2021).
In 2024 the President of the Italian Republic appointed him Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. His publications include books on Russia’s foreign policy and geopolitics and many articles and essays on international affairs.
