Max Civili is an independent journalist and audiovisual producer. He has produced reports from numerous countries for various media outlets, including Australia’s SBS (2001–2010) and Iran’s English-language state broadcaster Press TV (2011–present). For years, he reported from the Antipodes for Il Manifesto, and upon returning to Italy, he collaborated with the geopolitical magazine EastWest.
He lived in Sydney for over a decade, where he organized three film festivals focused on Italian migration cinema.
As a writer, he has published short stories both as a member of the Collettivo Banfield and individually, including “Il gol lo dedico a Bush” (Castelvecchi, 2021). In recent years, he has mainly worked with independent media outlets and organizations associated with so-called alternative or counter-information journalism.
