Paolo Luca Braida was born in Milan on July 19, 1959, to a father from the Emilia region and a mother from Lombardy. He spent his childhood in Milan and his early adolescence in Mantua, living with his parents, sister, and brother, before arriving in Lodi in 1973. He attended the “P. Verri” classical high school (liceo classico), graduating in 1978. He went on to pursue his studies at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.
