Riccardo Guariglia is an Italian diplomat and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was also the former Italian ambassador in Poland between 2011-2014 and Spain between 2020-2023.
During his extensive diplomatic career, Guariglia has held several senior positions both in Italy and abroad. His international assignments have included posts at the Italian Embassies in Cairo and Brasília, the Italian Consulate in Brussels, and the Permanent Representation of Italy to NATO, where he worked on crisis management, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean. From 2008 to 2011, he served as Deputy Director General for European Union Affairs and Director for European Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
