Senior officer in service of the Italian Coast Guard Corps, with the rank of Frigate Captain – Lieutenant Colonel (Commander).
He currently holds the position of Head of Operations Section and Deputy Head of the NSI Unit – Special Intervention Unit of the General Command of the Port Authority Corps – Coast Guard in Rome. The NSI is an apical judicial police service of the Port Authority Corps – Coast Guard reporting directly to the Commander General, with highly specialized personnel in complex judicial police investigations of a national and transnational maritime nature, with particular commitment in fields relating to protection of the environment and the fight against illicit waste trafficking.
Formerly responsible for various offices in previous places of service and for the judicial police force of the Coast Guard of the Public Prosecutor’s Office/DDA of Cagliari.
He obtained his classical high school diploma at the Liceo “C. Mameli” in Lanusei (NU), carried out specialist studies at the Naval Academy of Livorno, obtained a three-year degree and a specialist degree from the University of Perugia, in sectors relating to investigation and security, as well as a Master’s degree level in environmental law at La Sapienza University of Rome.
He has followed various specialist courses, obtaining specific qualifications of international importance in the field of maritime safety.
He holds periodic lectures at the Naval Academy of Livorno for Officers of the Port Authority Corps, as well as at the Specialist Training Center for military personnel of the Coast Guard in Livorno, in matters relating to environmental criminal law and complex police investigations judicial and investigative techniques.
He has participated on various occasions, very often as a speaker, in conventions and conferences on environmental criminal law and the fight against organized illicit waste trafficking, as well as navigation safety and hygiene and safety of workplaces in maritime and on merchant ships.
He is an expert in environmental matters in general and environmental criminal law in particular, as well as the related investigative, transnational and security aspects.
