Prefect, since 1 August 2014 he has been Central Director for the Traffic, Railway, Communications Police and for the Special Departments of the State Police.
He was a consultant to the Anti-Mafia Commission from 1997 to 2000, Director of the External Relations and Ceremonial Office of the Department of Public Security from 2000 to 2008, Director of the Traffic Police Service from 2008 to 2011.
He was also President of the National Observatory on Sporting Events, and Director of the Higher Police School from 2012 to 2014.
He was leader of the European project “Inter-Cultural Approaches for Road Users Safety” (ICARUS).
He is a professor at Sapienza University of Rome and at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and the author of various texts, including Conversations on legality (Piccin, 2011) and Youth and legality (Il Mulino, 2011).
