Simone Vezzani is an Associate Professor of International and European Union Law (qualified as a Full Professor) at the University of Perugia and an associate member of the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos “Salvador de Madariaga” (A Coruña). After studying in Florence and Paris (Sciences Po), he earned his Ph.D. in International and European Union Law from the University of Florence and gained research experience at the University of Florence (as a research fellow and adjunct professor), in Washington, DC (visiting fellow at Georgetown University), and The Hague (fellow at the Center for Studies and Research of the Hague Academy of International Law). For his doctoral dissertation, he received the “Riccardo Monaco Award” from the Italian Society of International Law. International environmental law is one of his main areas of research. He is currently the principal investigator (PI) of WP3 of the “Umbria – One Health” project, as well as a faculty member of the Jean Monnet ECOPOLEIS module (Participatory Legal Tools for Smart and Climate-Neutral Cities) and of the legal unit of the international More4Water project (Horizon Europe project).
