The meeting coincides with the recent release of issue 3/2023 of the magazine Aspenia, entitled “Battles for Europe”. The panel, opened by the Vice President of the European Parliament, Fabio Massimo Castaldo, will discuss various interconnected topics: the 2024 European electoral cycle, with its implications for foreign and security policy choices; the China issue in Europe-USA relations, with the intertwining of economic and geostrategic considerations; the Ukrainian dossier and the future of relations with Russia in the pan-European security framework; the evolution of transatlantic economic ties in a rapidly evolving global context. In the background, the impact of the political-social climate in both the USA and Europe will be assessed, characterized by strong ideological polarizations, institutional challenges, and economic uncertainties. The discussion will be closed by the President of the Chamber’s Foreign and Community Affairs Commission, Giulio Tremonti.
