Negotiation skills are the art of listening, understanding and mediating between different, often conflicting interests, with the aim of finding sustainable and shared solutions. It is not just a matter of technique, but of empathy, emotional intelligence and a willingness to recognise the other party as a legitimate interlocutor. In contexts of tension or conflict, negotiation becomes a fundamental tool for avoiding escalation and building bridges.

Peacebuilding, in fact, is not an event, but a long process, made up of small agreements, trust to be rebuilt and relationships to be repaired. In this journey, negotiation skills are not only useful for solving immediate problems, but also for creating the conditions for dialogue to remain open even after the conflict. Ultimately, it is the ability to transform disagreement into possibility and difference into richness.
