II Italian Water Dialogue: Blue development and HIDRO-DIPLOMACY

The whole world faces water crisis due to an increasing demand of water. Influencing factors are population growth, climate change and poor management of water resources. People, nature, cities and the economy need water and efficiency is foundamental to preserve this resource. For these reasons water challenges must be addressed with innovative technologies and sustainable solutions to reduce waste and to increase the availability of water quality.

Co-organized with the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development, the II Italian Water Dialogue will be an opportunity to define an Agenda that includes the participation of the most important national companies in international development projects set by SDG6.

The meeting will move around the presentation of the next WORLD WATER FORUM, in Bali in 2024, the announcement of Rome’s candidacy for the WWF 2027 by the institutional Promoting Committee and the presentation of experiences and best practices in five sectors:

1) Access to water and improvement of hygiene and health conditions;
2) A rational use of water for sustainable agriculture;
3) Reuse and regeneration, the circular economy of water;
4) Innovation, digitalisation and water
5) Water and disaster prevention

Some Italian projects and entrepreneurial experiences in cooperation will be illustrated to present the role of our country in a sector featured by growing opportunities.
