Antonella Napoli

Antonella Napoli is a professional journalist, war correspondent and analyst of international affairs, recognised as one of the most authoritative voices in Italian journalism on human rights issues. Since 2019, she has been editor-in-chief of “Focus on Africa”, the first Italian publication entirely dedicated to the African continent, published in three languages.

She has contributed to, and continues to contribute to, national and international publications such as Limes, Vanity Fair, the Huffington Post, Left, the Daily Mail, the Sudan Tribune, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Avvenire, L’Espresso and la Repubblica, as well as television broadcasters such as Rai, TV2000 and Al Jazeera. She has carried out investigations and produced reports in numerous countries, including Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Palestine, Jordan, Myanmar, India, Uganda, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Egypt, documenting humanitarian crises and human rights violations.

She is the author of the bestseller My Name is Meriam, translated into seven languages, and of Stronger Than Fear, dedicated to the Italian ambassador Luca Attanasio. For her professional work, she has received the Medal of Representation from the Presidency of the Republic and numerous journalism awards, including the Franco Giustolisi Prize. She is a member of the executive committee of Articolo 21 and a founding member of GIULIA – Giornaliste Unite Libere Autonome.
