Ambassador and President of DID – Italian Women in Diplomacy. Among her many roles, she was Head of Mission in Belgrade during the Balkan wars, Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Director General for European Countries, and from 2000 to 2004 Ambassador to Syria. She was awarded, among others, the honors of Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur and Commander of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great.
