Born in 1972 in Varese, Alessandro Alfieri graduated at the Bocconi University in Economics and, winning the public exam of Diplomacy, worked for four years at the Foreign Affair Minister in Rome and all over the world. In 2002 he was candidate as the mayor of Varese and for four years he coordinated the city’s Ulivo. He was the International Relations’ Responsible for the province of Milan, promoting abroad the Milan’s candidacy for Expo 2015. In 2010 he was elected, for the first time, in the Regional Council and he was confirmed in 2013. In march of the same year and until his election as the Secretary, he held the position of group leader of the Partito Democratico. From June 2013, he was the Regional Political Coordinator, later elected Secretary of the Lombard PD at the Congress of February 2014. Currently Senator, member of the 3rd Permanent Commission (Foreign affairs, emigration).
