From 1979 onwards, while the number of drug addicts continued to grow, he found himself alongside Vincenzo Muccioli, with whom he collaborated, in the battle against drugs. From 1980 to 1986 he was national secretary of the Republican Youth Federation. From July 1981 to November 1982 he was Head of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister. From 1987 to April 1991 he was an advisor to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, who assisted in the drafting of bills for the regulation of the radio-television system, for the reorganization of telecommunications and for the reform of the PT ministry, as well as in international relations and during meetings of the Council of Ministers of Europe. He was a board member and member of the executive committee of the companies Sip, Italcable and Telespazio. From 2003 to 2005 president of the DiGi Club, digital radio association. In 2008 he received, from the Congress of the Republic of San Marino, the role of consultant for the reorganization of the telecommunications sector and to prepare the necessary reforms in that sector. In May 2010 he received the task of chairing the Agency for the diffusion of innovation technologies, dependent on the Presidency of the Council. During this activity it had great success “Italia degli Innovatori”, which allowed many Italian companies to access the Chinese market. With the authorities of that country, he creates three exchange centers: technology, design, e-government. In November of 2011, he resigned from that post, suggesting that the government close the unproductive part of the Agency, including by eliminating overlaps with other bodies and agencies. From 2015 to 2016 he was a member of the Advisory Board of British Telecom Italia. Since 2004, every morning at 7, he has commented on the news for RTL 102.5.
